Photographer’s Note
On the 19th I went grape grazing with a group of Japanese friends who were, unlike me, wine connoisseurs. It is a wine fest of sorts, as people in cars or hired buses go from vineyard to vineyard, taste wines, try local foods and dance to various bands.
The event was initially canceled as a sign of respect to the bushfire victims- but then there was a change of mind as the local people felt that to hold the event would bring back the city folk and help the Yarra Valley wineries and shops regain their feet, at least for those businesses still functioning.
This photo is misleading in terms of the damage caused by the fires, as behind me stood intact the small winery's buildings, but across the small sealed road the bush (forest) was burnt black and the owner was in the process of bulldozing the area adjoining his property. He told us that the netting, used to protect the grapes on the vines from parrots and Indian minahs, had melted from the heat. A messy job followed in clearing the gooey substance.
Still, there he was, with his wife, encouraging us to taste the wines from his cellar, cheerful and philosophical about it all. He, unlike many, had his life and home.

Hello Klaudio,
The photo alone was enough for me to comment. The way you composed the photo with the trees extending in a flowing angle is excellent. The foreground and background are both interesting and sharp. Your note, though, makes this photo even more commendable. Thanks for sharing and bringing a human element to the photo and situation,
Melissa

Hi Klaudio, when I first looked at this shot I thought perhaps it might have been taken before the fires, then read your note. How lucky this side of the road was! You have captured the Victorian landscape beautifully here, the rolling hills and the wonderful colour in the vines. Lovely composition.
Cheers

Hi Klaudio,
Nice landscape showing a rich diversity of greens - still. That will change soon because the vineyards are starting to change their color towards gold, would be nice to take the same image again now or in some days.
Have a nice day JY

Hi Klaudio,
great note for great photo, the light and colour tones are really as soft as misty autumnal day...maybe I would add a little contrast, but maybe that qould hurt the soft tones...
Take care, Ivana

Hello Klaudio
une très belle lumière sur cette photo, la brume qui estompe légèrement la forme des collines donne un très bel impact à cette photo!!
Du très beau travail, j'aime beaucoup!!

Hi Klaudio.
Excellent autumnal scene, with the sun more or less in front of you, and coming so beautifully through those vine leaves which are slowly turning gold. I particularly like the warm hazy sort of atmosphere above the further paddocks and the ranks of hills. Very nicely done.

Andrew

Hi Klaudio,
A very pretty rural scene, the cross lit vines look fantastic, so too the rolling hills with that hazy atmosphere.
Very nice capture.

Hi Klaudio,
superb light indeed. Exposure is really fine and composition careful with those grapes leading us forward in the background. This is well-done.

Hello Klaudio,
Its interesting to see how the effects of light on landscape changes from the FG all the way towards the BG. A superb view of the vineyard against the BG with layers of rolling hills.

Beautifully done, Klaudio.
The soft hazy light is perfect for that view. Wonderful layers, with the lines of grapevines leading the eye in. Lovely soft color, great wide view and the mood is very gentle. Your note was excellent, too. Many thanks and warm regards,

Hello Klaudio!
It's a lovely, peaceful, pleasant and truly beautiful picture!
The pov was very well chosen and the composition, though simple, was very effective, with all the elements placed so nicely and harmoniously in the frame!
Sharpness, depth of field, exposure and colors are all excellent too!
TFS - Congratulations!
Best regards,

Zdravo Daddo,
Lijepa priča, uvijek postoji nada za bolje.
Moja omiljena tema, naš porodični vinograd je također gorio 95, inače je već bio zapušten zbog rata, ali konačno od prije 2-3 godine opet pravimo vino.
Pozdrav!

hi Klaudio,
my favourite thing about autumn is this crisp and golden light that you have here, for me it's worth suffering through all the rain and cold. I like a lot how you have composed the photo, the strong lines nicely lead the eye towards the layers of mountains in the distance. nice :)
best,

Hi Klaudio,
when looking at this autumnal impression I would like to be there right now enjoying the beautiful landscape and its nice atmosphere but reading your note means returning to reality and the consequences of the disaster. This image together with your note is a document that really touches the soul. TFS!
Warm regards

Hi Klaudio
I would love to go grape grazing in the Yarra Valley sometime. Which winery is this one ?
I like you pov of the vines leading out from the corner. The misty background sets off the scene nicely.

Hello Klaudio,
Wow, is this really Australia? The soft colors look European. A very painterly image.

Hi Klaudio,
Lovely picture of grapevines on autumn light. Highlights show nicely through those leaves. On my trip I went on a bus tour to Hunter Valley, but the weather was dull. I wish I could have taken a picture like this there.

Hi Klaudio
It is misleading indeed but perhaps a sign that normality is returning. Nice light on the vineyard and excellent clarity and depth in this image.

Hello Klaudio,
A fascinating photo! An excellent POV. I like the lovely autumn light and atmosphere and a composition which provides several interesting levels from the foreground to the far distance. A good note, which also reminds us about the horrible bush fires, the signs of which are just around the corner. TFS!

Beautiful soft light and depth in this one, Klaudio.
Maybe I would have darkened the sky a little.
