Photographer’s Note

This is just a shot of the Central Australian Desert, near to Uluru in the Karta Tjuta National Park. There are thousands and thousands of square miles of landscape just like this, vast, arid and magnificent. The earth is red because of the iron deposits in the soil and no trees can live here except for the indestructible eucalyptus, of which there are more that 170 species. It is one of the driest places on earth. The landscape is doted by the carcases of dead trees. The colours of this land are amazing and the vastness stupefying.
