A better note would be a help!
This nice looking purple stuff is known as 'Paterson's Curse', and is Australia's worst weed. It was introduced from Mediterranean Europe but has no native insect or plant rivals to keep it under control here in Australia. It is good for the bees but poisonous for grazing animals and millions of dollars must be spent every year to get rid of it.
Your photo would be a lot better if you crossed the road and took the shot over the fence. Like this, the road occupies half the picture and the photo is at a slight angle judging from the vertical poles.
