In arid areas of Australia you find trees growing and hanging on in odd spots. This eucalypt is growing on the edge of a rock shelf with its main roots running across the rock surface and then down into cracks to find soil.

Hi Ian, You made an amazing trip to Western Australia, what fantastic landscape photos you show us. This gum tree growing here on the edge of the rock shows the power of nature. Beautiful picture.

This is a nice tree with a good POV. The picture is slightly overexposed, and there is some dust on the sensor (you can see a black spot in the sky on the left), but it is a good idea to share this picture with us.
