Welcome on Trekearth! I do like the light and the atmosphere of your shot. Thanks to a good exposure, you've perfectly captured this scene with a good sharpness and nice resolution. I like the details in the "high" lights too, with the patterns of the dark trees. Perhaps could you indicate your camera, your settings, to allow us must appreciate your job.

There is a lot of atmosphere in your picture. The overexposed sky shows the high contrast between the deep forest and what's above. I like your framing and the density of this shot. A good one to begin on TE. Welcome!

Well done. We really feel the atmosphere of this place here. I like how the mist dampers the light in the sky. Composition gives a nice view of the depth of this forest.

Really, really nice shot Brendan. Great entrance to TE. Everything in this shot really works, and I believe with a little post processing, it could be even better. Running a contrast masking technique on it (see the tips and techniques forum) brings out more of the details in the plants. If you allow for workshop postings, I could show you the results. Very nice work and good use of the conditions present.

Very beautiful. The effect of the back-light, without losing the details with the foreground is well succeeds. Very refreshing. Congratulation, bravo! Welcome on TE.

I like this picture a lot because it is so authentic. There are remote corners of the Big Island (Hawaii) that look just like this during rain.

Great first photo! I agree with chrischris that this photo has a great atmosphere. The fog and rich greens really give this shot an amazingly organic feel.. I can almost smell the bush!

Beautiful...with the light and atmosphere, it makes for quite a peaceful sight. It would be nice to know what the camera conditions were when you took this.

Hi Brendan,
although darkish, the photo is well composed and has lots of atmosphere. I can catually imagine and dampness and lushness of the eucalyptus trees and ferns. It brings back good memories of Australia. Thank you

Beautiful shot. I love the soft contrast and the subtle lighting coming in from the trees. The mist gives an overall mystic ambiance. Good work.
