[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This shot was taken at Wirrina Cove, on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Time would have been about 4pm. Sun was low over my right shoulder.

As well as a UV filter (which I leave on my lens pretty much all the time), a circular polarising filter was used to see into the water with minimum reflection.

I am often surprised how it seems to be the pictures that are taken spontaneously shine, and yet pictures that one gives preparation to often turn out to be just "average". To me this shot is like that. I had never gone to that location with the intention of getting that particular shot. Indeed, it was only later when the images were transferred to HDD that I became aware of this one. Just the same, it is one of my personal favourites. A happy surprise.

It has also reinforced to me the importance of frame of view. This shot has a deceptive tranquility. What can't be seen here is that only meters behind me was a busy boat ramp full of boats being washed and loaded onto trailers after a sunny day's fishing.

Nice view of the coast and with good effect of polarizing filter.
There are some problems as well.
First of all it looks too bright. If you used Adobe Lightroom for Raw conversion, I think brightness slider was set too far to the right. Colors - it looks a bit too green. Another problem is - JPG over-compression. That's very typical problem with many photos here at TE. Your uploaded photo size is only 69 KB in size, while TE limits uploads to 200 KB. Because of over-compression, noise is visible in the clear areas of the sky. The same photo would look much better if uploaded at close to 200 KB. The best option would be to use Photoshop "Save for Web..." option, which allows to select final image size.
Some extra sharpening would be good here as well - I think no sharpening was done after downsizing the photo. Check out my workshop version.

Tu nous offre une magnifique vue ici ! las couleurs sont magnifiques ce rocher donne une bonne profondeur a ta photo.

Belle photo de cette mer et de ce ciel bien bleu, belle profondeur de champ et bon POV.
Pour ce qui est des 69 KB, lorsque je suis arrivé sur TE je ne savais pas comment faire et j' ai poster les chutes du niagara en tout petit. Une personne m' a signalé que je pouvais l' agrandir en taille et en poids, je vais essayer de te l' expliquer avec photo shop.
Tu va dans photo shop, tu fais " ouvrir" dans le déroulant fichier et tu trouve ta photo, tu double clique dessus et elle s' ouvre.
Tu ouvre de nouveau le déroulant " fichier " puis tu clique sur "enregistrer sous" une fenêtre s' ouvre avec les photos dedans, tu clique sur enregistrer. une autre fenêtre s' ouvre et te dit que ce fichier existe déjà. il te demande si tu veux le remplacer, tu clique "OK".
Apparaît alors une page appelée "option JPEG"
Dans la case en dessous, " taille" tu vois a quelle force elle est compressée, ex 69,35 K.
Tu change dans les cases" option image et format" jusque au moment ou tu obtient une valeur légèrement inférieure a 200 K, le mieux que tu peux, car parfois tu dois accepter moins que 200.
Tu reverifie en rouvrant ta photo et si la valeur est remontée au dessus de 200 ou descendue trop bas, tu recommence la procédure.
J' espère que ce mot te permettra de régler ce petit problème et que de cette façon tes photos serons au bon poids et a la bonne taille.

One of my favourite places. I know the bustle in the boat ramp you talk about. There is a similar spot at Myponga beach, similar rocks etc. It is what caught my eye. I thought it was Mypo but on enlargement I can recognise Wirrina. Nice capture though. Sometimes with a bit a cloud cover at sunset the rocks there really light up. I've seen it later in the day coming into the boat rampand have often thought I should have brought the camera. I also like darker sunset shots, and try to tweak the sharpness. I use paint shop pro but it has a few limitations compared to photoshop and microsoft picture editer is a bit clunky but does give fast results.
