Photographer’s Note
Coober Pedy is continually changing the landscape through its Opal mining pursuits. This area is dotted with mine pits and the related mounds.This area produces 70% of the worlds opals, and most of the population live in underground homes to escape the high temperatures of summer.
This photo was taken late in the day on a rare cloudy day, providing lots of texture and colours.
