Photographer’s Note
This photo is taken on the Semaphore foreshore during the International Kite Festival. The International Kite Festival encourages people from around the world to bring whatever kites they have produced and showcase them on the Semaphore beach. However although it is an "international" festival, it seems that the only people displaying kites are from Adelaide itself! Despite this the sight of around 50 oversized and colourful kites flying in the air is very unique and attracts a large crowd, particularly families with their children.
Semaphore beach is a popular family destination in Adelaide, and The Palais, a restaurant and function centre located on the beach, is a popular place for Adelaide residents to get married. Here you can see a wedding entourage making their way towards the beach for some photos. If you look closely you can see each of the men carrying a bottle of beer with them to the photo shoot... very Australian!
I'm sure for this couple the sight of all the weird and wacky kites flying around will make this a wedding to remember.

Though not very attractive visually, I think this is a good photo. It really shows us a piece of earth! Also, I like the usage of wide crop, it's very appropriate.

Hi Julian!
Funny shot! you were right time right place. Maybe it would have been a bit better if you'd been closer to the people... I see that they have beers in their hands, hehe...
