Photographer's Note

This is another Photo taken At Roxby Mine tailings dam.
The dam that you see is known as cell 3 of the tailings dam of the Roxby Mine. A tailings dam is where all the sludge or a slurry type substance that is left over from the processing of the materials that are mined here. It is piped out to these holding pens and stored to be broken down at a later date.
This cell (one of 4) is the smallest cell consisting of approx. 1.3 kilometres long by .8 of a kilometre wide..
Roxby Downs is about 6oo kilometres north of Adelaide (being the capital city of South Australia) on the southern edge of Australias Outback, and is the home of Olympic Dam.
I hope you enjoy some of my photos from the outback and would appreciate any comments, critiques or any other feed back to help share some of our great outdoors through photos
Cheers
Lance
