Photographer’s Note

Mining history. Very little remains of a once vast mining complex in the Mid North of South Australia. This is a Welsh chimney from an old boiler house. The Welsh built square chimneys, the round ones were Cornish.

The picture was run through Photoshop to adjust the Levels a little, and Desaturate it, and add a border. Some noise has been added to attempt to age it.

It shows the starkness of the area. Very few trees remain. The land is dry and inhospitalble.

Hi Dave,
This is a nice shot of an old chimney. I like the way you have chosen sepia and that you have added some noise to age the photo. The land is very harsh out that way and your photo shows that. Nice. Thank you for sharing.

Nice photo. I like this perspective and the changes you have made.It really matches with the age of the construction. Sepia was a really nice option also. I think the result is very good!

This shot is done really nicley.

The sepia tnes alng with the granieness of the photo make it seem eons ago. It's almost "six feet under" Australian style.

The ligting and the positioning of subjects are related well and make the photo seem to have a great flow.

the choice of sepia for this shot is perfect. Due to the cnanges the picture really looks like it belongs to the same era when this chimney was constructed. the composition is good and pov is excellent.
