This shot was taken near Adelaide which is in South Australia. All those plains and grasslands are just beautifull, but very hard to get on to. The electric fenses are pretty much everywere.. :(
Its has been a bit of adventure, but let me tell you guys, it was worth it. :)

Typical Aussie countryside with the golden grass, the Eucalyptus and the special light and shadows. And you managed to find one of your trademark logs but bigger this time ;-)

Good composition, but what really makes this picture is the fantastic lighting.
Well done, definitely worth the effort.

Hi Radim, a very strong composition and the quality of the light is of the highest order. I like how you've under-exposed to saturate the colours - it's worked very well. A great photo. Stephen

In another country, and on another island this could in fact be the fossils of a Komodo Dragon. Very good gold tone image, and the leading of the tree is perfect.

Wow, that lens does great things at wide angles. Well spotted and beautifully captured. For some reason it looks more like later afternoon light to me - is that right?
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Radim. I think you diligence really paid off here. You've got quite the play of light and shadows. You might be able to burn part of the sky to even it out a bit. Awesome shot Radim!
weswang (18223) 2006-05-09 1:33
Hi Radim, I enjoy this well composed beautiful shot. You have well made use of the low angle light to make a nice effect of the shadow and the color of the sun. Nice contrast, sharpness and depth. Well done.

Cool filtering effect, makes this image a warm and dry place, man.
A pretty nicely composed shot with excellent sharpness and clarity. Well, 350D do provide quite an acceptable shot, isn't it?
Cheers and good day.

This is a beautiful photograph with great lighting, very well taken. I love that piece of wood as the center of interest. Did you try any shots at a slightly lower angle to make the wood protrude into the sky a little? The colors look great. Nice job!
P.S. I love the way you have framed it. Large on top and bottom, slender on the sides.
