Photographer’s Note
Daylight is disappearing fast and these paddleboats are tied up for the evening on the River Torrens in the heart of Adelaide city.
In the morning they will be available for hire again and visitors and families will be able to enjoy the sights that this city has to offer as they leisurely paddle up and down the river.

Hi Marlene.
We are 'neighbours' today on TE.
I was clicking this one open before I even realised it was an Australian shot, attracted by the bright colours of this snaking line of paddle boats. Well seen and captured on the dark waters of the Torrens, and making very good use of the reflected light of the clouds in the water.

Andrew

Hello Marlene,
A very catchy thumbnail, and the cleaverness of the observation becomes even more obvious when seeing the picture in full scale. Several attractive lines, not just the paddleboats, all point towards the upper right corner.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Marlene,
This motive looks like it was there just waiting for the photographer ;) And you were the one who saw this very nice composition, not only a lot of tied up paddleboats!
A very fine observation!
Best regards

Hello Marlene,
a very unusual photo, very original POV. Frankly speaking, while looking at the thumbnail of the photo I didn't understand what that was! :)
I appreciate this original composition and an unusual "paletter" of colours which are very suitable for the New Year celebration :)
I wish you all the best in 2009! Happy New Year!!

Well spotted, Marlene - this is the sort of thing that plenty of people could walk past without noticing, but I am glad you did not.
Clever composition, too, giving a colourful line leading out of the frame.
Bravo and thanks for sharing it.

Hi Marlene
another fine example of your talent for strong dynamic composition. Here you've just turned a rather ordinary scene into a colorful plastic and fiberglass chromatic symphony.

Emmanuel
