This photo depicts a small portion of my group with Uluru in the background.

I felt while I was there that everywhere I turned, people were all around me, talking and laughing and having fun. Some took the site more seriously, while others seemed to enjoy the act of tourism more than the actual site. I connect with both parties, perhaps more with those that could have been anywhere seeing something new and enjoying it.

To me this photo shows that the isolation of a site, sought by many photographers, is usually only part of the story. I believe that tourism is interesting in itself and is sadly something often ignored.
