Photographer’s Note
Mt Sonder (1380m) is at the end of the Larapinta Trail which starts in Alice Springs, 224km away. The walk takes about 5 days (I didn't do it ;-)). This lookout is right near Glen Helen Resort.

bonsoir Nikki,

oh what a breathtaking scene! I almost feel the whooshing wind in my face, exactly what I'd need after a way too long day in the office. love the colours and details in this shot. is that a rock formation in the upper right part? looks like a fin of some fosilised animal :) great shot, thanks for sharing.
best,
Kristine

Bonsoir Nikki
J'aime beaucoup.

Hi Nikki,
The colours are just wonderful. The red earth doesn't seem to only be for Africa. The same intense red can be found here. Together with the polarized blue sky a great combination!

Hola Nikki.

Hello Nikki,
Your images of Australia's arid heart are always impressive, this series is delightful and brings back countless memories of my time in the area. I am not sure if i did see Mt. Sonder, the closest I got to it was Hermansberg community or Finke River? Nevertheless, the contrasts in this image are remarkable and provide a wonderous example of the landforms which dot this desolate yet uniquely stunning region of the NT.

Hi Nikki,
how wonderful!
So, these are the outbacks... I definitely ought to get my butt out there at some point. Those blues and reds are yummie for my own taste!
Awesome composition, huge depth of field, great job.
Ciao,

Nikki! Mes compliments!...
Quite a nice shot!

Bon week-end.

Fantastic colours, a dreamy lanscape. I love the mix of blue in the sky, yellow and red on the ground.

Hello Nikki,
This place seems so harsh of an environment is amazing anything can survive there. I really like your blue sky and how it contrasts with the red dirt. Those Hoya Polarizer works very well doesn't it. I really love mine.
Have a great weekend,

Hello Nikki -
Wow, what colors! I am amazed at the different tones of color in this image. I am assuming from the shadows that this is late in the day and you selected a perfect scene to demonstrate how getting out at the right time can enhance an image. Every thing is spot on the money. Well done!!
Thank you for sharing.

Nikki,
Australia has always had a certain fascination for me and in my wildest dreams I end up there although I never dreamed of such a beautiful landscape as this here that you're presenting in bright and luxious, almost oversaturated colors. Your image reminds me somewhat my own post from Painted Hills that you critiqued recently and did also a WS. Contrary to mine this doesn't need a WS! :-)

Lovely shot with great colours, the workshop is useful though, as your original scene lacks of contrast.

Hi Nikki, great representation of the aussie outback, well controled exposure with the polarizer and nice depth of field, extending all the way to the mountains. Living in the city, I'm always glad to be reminded of our beautiful outback.
Cheers,
Rob.

Hello Nikki,
you have a wonderful gallery, full of beautiful pictures, I really like your style.
The view you are showing us, with this picture, is simply breathtaking. I really like the sense of vastity and solitude of this land that you managed to bring in, in such perfect way. The different colours of the earth are well contrasted by the blue of the sky, and the presence of the Mt in the bg gives to the compo a beautiful 3D effect. I like it!
Thanks very much for sharing it and regards,
Igor
