I have decided to do a short series on the different sides and formations of Uluru (Ayers rock).
Uluru is situated in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National park. You can either book a tour on a bus from the resorts or you can get a shuttle bus to the cultural centre and do your own walk. I found that the tours did not have a lot to offer, you basically walk to one section of the rock for about 15 minutes and thats it, so we left the tour and went on our own and later got a shuttle bus back to our accomodation which I found was far more rewarding than the tour.
You can climb to the top of the rock but the Aboriginal people ask that you do not beacuase it is a sacred site for them.
We did a hike around the base of Uluru which is about 9km and takes about 3-4 hours to complete. |

Very interesting almot abstract shot. The diagonal composition playing with light is very well seen.

Hello Wanda.
The mountain casts its sharply defined shadow. Good.
Hello Wanda
This is areally a composition out of the ordinary, but what a great mix of colour though.
The black rock area takes away half the photo, but the other half makes up for this with a very good pale blue/tourquise sky.
Thank you for sharing.
