This is not Australia. This is just Santo. I went to see him in Melbourne this September. He wanted to persuade Paolo [not Giorgio] from Italy to visit Australia too and asked me if I could promise him to post photos on TE. Bloody cheeky fella. I had stopped posting and made my last wish on TE. He knew it. He kept asking, so I promised but I never gave date. So now it is 2 months late. So is Giorgio going to look at this and come to Australia? You do the talking Santo. But I can write a story to go with it.
This is my last post on TE. See the same one on TL here 101 way to get a girl in Australia
If you are from Italy, Giorgio, you wont regret seeing Australia because I found many Italian descendants there. I had my Italiano name, made many friends. What the pizza, I had more pizzas in 1 week of Australia than 5 years in Malaysia. Similarly about wine. Damn I broke my own rules.
Here is Griffiths Island Lighthouse area. And Santo is seen here chasing a xxxx. I had no idea what it is. In the bushes. What do you think? We were supposed to shoot landscape and nature. Did he find a nude girl in the grass? Can you see it? Boy he was fully excited and in focus. I might have seen the nude in the grass but I would wish to violate ToS and post it here. Come to see it in my computer if you want.
I pick this one to allow me to say thank you to this boy. A fine boy coming out from Italy to Australia and is he trying to ask me to move too?
I am impressed with the drive down Great Ocean Road. The oceans, the landscape, the people. The animals too. I saw Koala Bear, Kangaroo for first time. Birds too, well those with feathers. Some without features too, in decent forms. Well, I had fun too with Alfred Santo and Lisa at Sorrento.
Taken with a new lens Tamron 28-300mm VC.
I hope to give you some last critiques this week :) and that is it. Take care, Ciao. bill
p/s OH! Merry Xmas and Happy New Year 2010 too you all!

This is a nice portrait of Santo looking at a possibility of a photo. You caught the serious expression and concentration of the photographer. It is well placed in the frame. The morning light is enhancing the colors. It is sad to read that it is your last post on TE, all the best to you.

Hello Bill, The first thing I want to say is that it was not the nude body that I was attracted to but it was the little tattoo she had on her cheek, all I wanted was one shot but she was a little timid so no luck. Thanks for your tribute & yes it was a little cheeky of me to ask but I don't regret it at least this way your friends have heard from you once more. It was a pleasure spending those days with you & Alfred, memories that I will certainly take to my grave, not too soon hopefully. I thank you for your good wishes & take this opportunity of wishing you & your loved ones a happy, healthy & safe Christmas & New Year. I regret that I will not hear from you on this site as you were with me from my very first posting, always with pos. feedback & encouragement, thank you, you will be surely missed not only by me but also by the many friends you have made. You have not heard the last of me, I'm sure, but for now not goodbye but ciao my friend, I sincerely hope that with time you will reconsider your decision & again we can enjoy your fotos & well written, entertaining & meaningful notes.
PS He is getting a little old but still a nice looking bloke wit a sense of humour, no not the photographer, I'm talking about the subject, being serious now ;-)
Ciao Mario, Grazie

This one looks like he is on the set of CSI Australia. What a handsome leading man too. I'll bet he gets offers everyday from Hollywood..
I'm sorry you still have a problem with TE, but it is your decision and you must follow your heart. I want to leave you with a quote from The Truman Show, Christof finally talks to Truman from the clouds. He tries to convince Truman to stay. Truman answers, "In case I don't see you, good afternoon, good evening, and good night."
I hope I see you Bill.

Hi Bill! Welcome back, please stay and don;t make this your last. Or we will make you sleep with the fishes. I'm glad that Santo has all his clothes on in this shot, if he saw otherwise, perhaps Giorgio would not want to come to our country :) Great blurred DOF, lovely colour and sharpness and I lke the effect of the long grass and vertical frame. Great work - we miss you! Lisa

I was happy to know you were back but now what a sad news...don't delete your account. Who knows one day you decide to comeback. Anyhow, I hope to see you around and keep in touch.
You take care, my friend!

Sharpness and clarity are very nice.
Composition and presentation are very well. TFS..

I like this photographer with the moustaches, Santo she is indeed a character and good you have done in to make it see.
Docarmo (9639) 2009-12-02 21:08
I'm glad to see you back... unfortunately, not for long time, as I understood by your note? I hope I didn't understand it well.
I like to see the photographer in action.
The big tree in the background looks like trees here in Canada. Also, it is a good choice for a Christmas image.
Happy Christmas to you, too.
P.S.: keep posting, please.

axiotea (21651) 2009-12-03 10:48
Ho! I did not realize you have been posting already some days ago! but what I read, this is the last one and at least till new year! ;( Come on ;))
So you were eating lot's of pizzas in Australia, but never tried the 'happy one in PP' (neither did I) ;)))
A new lens? so you need for another bag or a bigger one than the one you've showed me ;)
It looks like you had fun there, I can see in good company and in a peaceful place! The tree behind seems to be huge, the vertical format was a good choice!

Ciao dear Bill,
I am Paolo (not Giorgio) :-) the friend of Santo that lives to Treviso, where he was born and from where he has departed when he was only 9 years old to go to Australia. The world is really small. Casually commenting one photo of his, we have discovered that we have the same origins, even if we live in the other side of the world. We have immediately done friends, and when one year ago we met there in Italy it has been as to meet a brother. I believe that in TE the thing most important are not the photos but the friendship that it ties us. I have read in yours notes that this is the last photo in TE. I have also thought, so many times, to stop, but the feeling of the friendship has won my decision. I hope that you consider this feeling, the photos have little importance. Anyway, I respect your decision. I have promised to Santo that I will come in Australia, now I don't know when, but surely I will come. I hope to still see your beautiful photos in TE, but if it won't be so, I hope to know you in Australia. Thanks, dear friend, for the pleasant portrait of Santo and for the beautiful words that you have written in the notes.
Ciao, have a nice time!
ls7902 (7348) 2009-12-03 18:27
Santos really look like a cool & easy going character. A great special post to honor the man. And a challenge & invitation to Paolo if I'm reading your notes correctly? Is Santos trying to shoot a frog or something? I like the contemplation on his face. Happy New Year & Christmas to you and family. Regards. Latiff.
danos (97431) 2009-12-04 0:26
what about you a long distance old fellow? Nice the snapshot with the photographer to try to capture this close up image.
papagolf21 (100876) 2009-12-04 0:29
Très belle histoire dans la note d'accompagnement.
J'aime la posture de Santos, l'oeil aux aguets prêt à déclencher pour saisir le monde merveilleux des insectes qui vit à nos pieds.
Une bien belle image.
Amitiés de France

So this is another farewell...
I had seen you in Lisa's photos and now I'm glad to see Santo in yours! It's a fine photo both for the way it depicts Santo and for the beautiful surrounding it shows.
Be well and maybe we'll see each others in some other site?
jlbrthnn (76037) 2009-12-04 7:07
I am filled with enthusiasm by this image and the link, and I am deeply disappointed of knowing that you will not publish any more on TE. We exchanged much, I hope that you will reconsider your decision, or perhaps I would meet you on another site. Congratulations.
Have a nice day. Wit advance, Joyeux Noël, et Bonne Année.

On the alert our friend apparently… Pretty portrait of Santos in this Australian bush !!! Beautiful colors and good management of the light, I like your framing which emphasizes well your subject. Happy to see you again after this long absence, however I read in your note that it is your last photograph, you have certainly your reasons and I respect them, but you will miss us. Then all the best for you and I hope with soon perhaps on another photo site !!!
With all my friendships of Versailles and I also wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy year 2010,
siolaw (38292) 2009-12-07 5:20

Is he going for some bugs in the grass??
Come on, change your mind and come back!

Welcome back to TE, only meet you once but you have inspired me in my photography, thank you. Santo is an amazing man and a great photographer very unique in his style, manner and passion, he is definitely one of my favorite people on TE.
Hope to see you again on TE Bill, together we can make it better i"m sure.
PS; Nice POV by the way.
bisok (948) 2009-12-16 19:43
I am not sure about the frame of the photograph, because I've got bad associations :-)
The quality of the photograph is very good but that frame :-)
Sorry about that. Simply, I have bad associations.
Maybe white one would be better.
I don't know ...
Anyway, there is an interesting story in the Photographer's Note :-)
Regards my dear friend
TopGeo (38216) 2009-12-19 11:24
