Photographer’s Note
The Spirit of Tasmania II(or shall I call it the Spirit of Victoria) is a fast cruise ferry that operate between Melbourne and Devonport(which is a hardly known Tasmanian city). She was built in 1998 by Kvaerner Masa-Yards Turku in Finland for Superfast Ferries as MS Superfast III. From 2002 onwards she sails as MS Spirit of Tasmania II.
The ferry has a capacity for 1400 passengers and 1000 cars.
This was taken at Station Pier, Melbourne in the company of Bill and Santo

Hi Alfred, I like the diagonal lines you've spotted and captured so well. The sky is beautiful and everything is sharp and exposed superbly. And the title's clever too. TFS and have a great week, un abbraccio, Lisa.

Hi Alfred
I see from this note that his boat was built not longer after I did the trip in December 1997.
Excellent pov with lots of depth and sharpness. Lovely day for a TE outing too.

Hi Alfred,
Good perspective, you show the ship off well.
Good definition, a very high quality image.
Maybe if I took a leaf out of Santo's book and started washing up, possibly Mrs. Wall would buy me a D700 and that great lens you have.
Nice work.

Hello Alfred, interesting & very effective shot, sharp & full of detail, perfectly exposed, which I recall was difficult because of the sun & strong shadows, lovely colours & a magical looking blue sky ;-))). You have gained maximum effect from the boat's converging lines, excellent visual effect. The title I think must refer to the people of Victoria?. Well done again.
Take care
Santo
I think you have mastered the D700, I wonder if it would improve my Photography, I need a second body, is it worth washing more dishes??? ;-), worth thinking about.

Hello Alf,
I like the accession to Victoria. Come to think of it, its as much spirit of Victoria as it is of Tasmania.
Nice natural colors and a very well managed exposure.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Alfred,
Nice composition. Yes, nice capture of many verticle lines. The clarity in this shot is great. Love the blue sky also.
Cheers,
Graham.

Hi Alfred,
this is a very nice capture of this disastrous ferry. Looking at her I remember very well the fire that broke out on 1 November 1999 (exactly ten years ago!) in a freezer trailer when she served the route Patras - Ancona. 14 Refugees from Kurdistan died in a truck on the ship's vehicle deck. Did you know this?
Your photo work is excellent, very beautiful colors and light and a great perspective. My compliments!
Warm regards
Harriet

G'Day Mate
Good POV with the diagonal lines leading your eyes to the rear of the ship. Nice sky and well contrasted shot.
I've been on her in 2008, good fun.

Hi Alfred: The ferry has such a huge capacity. No wonder you have managed only some of it in the frame :-)
Well chosen pov depicting the size and colors are well coordinated against the beautiful sky. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni
