Photographer's Note
In all the years spent in Australia I have never seen a wombat in the wild, all day I was wondering if we would see one, then on a late afternoon walk on the headland at Tidal River in Wilsons Prom National Park,we were walking up the track, my wife screamed and tripped up over a tired wombat that came out of a hole in the bank at her side,I was shaking, along with the wombat, in fright, but it eyed me long enough for an auto snapshot, thank goodness for image stabilizer !

Hello Mike, What a beautiful, clear shot of this wombat, I'd say you were extremely lucky, first to see him & secondly to capture him in such fine detail. I lived in Kinglake for a while, we had one living under the house, as they only venture out at twilight & are mainly nocturnal I was never able to get a good clear shot of one, unless of course he was lying on the side of the road, & there were plenty of them about. Well done.
Thanks
Regards
Santo
