The 15th of September the Italian community in Melbourne celebrated their 15th anniversary of Festa Italia in the Yarra Valley.
The day began with Mass at St. Mary’s Parish Church at Mount Evelyn. This was followed by a procession at the front of which young men carried the statue of
Madonna Maria SS. Annunziata, Patron of Oppido Mamertina, Reggio Calabria & Diocese.
The day’s events were sponsored by the Reggio Calabria organization. After the procession and the blessing by the priest, it was time for some BBQ food, Italian pastries, coffee, home made vino and pizza in the afternoon. On stage we had band music, dancing, a spaghetti eating competition and the eagerly awaited appearance of “The Man with the Golden Voice”- Tony Pantano, a much loved entertainer in Melbourne who sang Elvis’s and Tom Jones's golden oldies and many Italian favourites.
It was a sunny day, an answer to the organizers’ prayers and fun was had by all.
Workshop gives a closer look.

A very informative note - thankyou.
I thought at first when the thumbprint came up,this was a wedding because of the ladies in white dresses.
A well composed composition with many points of interest.

Looks like a classic Italian festival - plenty of pomp followed by plenty of fun. A well composed photo with a good variety of people included.

With a nice and luminous picture you remember us that Australia is a land of welcome where communities from around the world found a home and a place to live under a new nationality.

Hi dear Klaudio,
You're capturing well anniversary of Festa Italia by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the spectacle in which a priest is made into a head and Itarian group of young and old of both sexes goes to the hall in sunny day. It seems to the proof of the fact that the Italian community is accepted in the Australia society, as a member of a multi-ethnic nation.
