One of the things that struck me about the Gippsland Lakes is the abundance of water bird. Here is a egret just after taking off near Wattle Point.

Hi Steve, I trust that you bare well and well over the festive season.. great sharp image of the egret.. one thing I did notice while in Aus. the bright sun makes it so much easier for sharp images.. with the low lights of the winter ( grey) its so important to keep that shutter speed up to ensure both sharpnessd and DOF and the need of a tripos.. ISO on digil makes it easier
