Photographer’s Note
Melbourne Southbank is one of the major nightlife spots. Stylish wine bars, busking, gambling... Fantastic views at the Melbourne city and one of the prime Melbourne attractions the Rialto Tower - the tallest concrete structure of the Southern Hemisphere.

Hello Ed! I thin you've made a very nice choice of applying b&w to this shot, the lights in the night turned out great! Exposure is excelent, but what I like most is the balanced composition, with tyhe building very well placed! Thumbs up!

excellent picture, its composed great, the black and white looks very rich, you can feel the romance of the moment. sky looks very soft. Just a stunning photo. It says you had 15 second exposure? was this couple posing for you?

A great composition.
The black and white provides a special touch to the photography.
Excellent Job

Ed,
Very good night shot. Using the couple at the foreground is very effective, and the tone is just perfect. Good depth in the composition.
Looks like Melbourne skyline has changed quite a lot since I lived there ~23 years ago.

Your photos make me want to experiment with monochrome. I've always felt that with mono, composition is more important than with colour. (A photo with spectacular colour can often 'carry' a poor composition)
The composition here is spot on, and the sky with the dusk light gives good definition to the lights in the buildings and surrounding areas.
I've added this photo to my favourites.

It looks both classy and modern. Both soft and razorsharp! Nice photograph you took here, Ed.
The bridge and the water (and don't forget the couple) make it all romantic, but then the towers in the back.. give you the 'back to reality thing'. It's all a bit of everything. Nice work.
Cheers sarah

Superb shot, Ed!
Well chosen POV, beautifully composed image and frozen moment with an unbelievably long freezing process... I can't believe this is a 15 second exposure and you captured that couple so well. The B&W was a perfect choice. The photo makes me think of some scene in some '30s movie. It's a classic.
