The man and the sea, a photo from Victoria, East

Photographer's Note

Walking along the beach, I noticed a man standing far away on a pier. The geometry of the lines and the lone figure stroke me as a ready-made composition. I took a couple of shots before realising I photographed a photographer who was awaiting a ship. To each his/her own!

[Some of you have pointed out the grain; included in the workshop is an alternative version]

It is fun, there is noise/grain on this picture, looking to your camera setting it should be free of texture. But perhaps it is your choice of post processing?
Nice composition, with few elements but easily readable. At the end a graphic picture, like a painting.
The kind of shot which could also work in B&W.

Hi Izabela,
Really a good composition, graphical and impressive, of a man in quest of the sea. You applied good contrast in color, and those hanging clouds are just nice. But the grains and noise slightly mar the mood of this composition.

Hi Izabela. There is something classic about this image- the emptiness beyond, the geometric yet alienating shapes, the harsh light, the empty vastness above- (all a little unsettling) and the solitary figure with the tripod waiting. Another awaiting for Godot. Regards. Klaudio.

Excellent composition with nice blue tones, The lonely man is perfectly placed on your photo, on a good focal point.
