Well personaly I think there's potential here. The colors clarity and details are very nice, but the crop could be perfectioned.
I feel there's too much space on top and on the bottom. If you'd crop the sky until a bit over the mass of clouds, or cropping the base until almost the white line of the road on the right our atention would center in the main motive which are the people.
Made two WS's to exemplify.

I have to agree with Jose on the cropping issue, but I think I would have left in the lone gull soaring over the sea. Apart from that it's a nice everyday capture with good colours - and nice Aussie shrubbery ;-)

I would agree that there's too much sky & would crop just above the gull.
Composition & design are superb. Good colour, too.

Jennifer, it's a really pleasant picture,
in fact people of Melbourne like these seashore walks :)

Not sure about comments re too much sky... its all that blue that attracted me to the picture! I think it helps creat mood at the seaside.
You have great facilities there in Victoria for walking and cycling.

Feeling of immense space here-- directly the result of the sky. My first reaction would have been to frame this horizontally but seeing it vertically is a nice break from that-- one usually associates solidarity, serenity and the like with a horizontal framing. The use of the strong curve and the horizontal nature of the horizon, the people, clouds and gradient of blue counteract the dynamism of the vertical framing I think. Well done!

I never done any workshop before and was just about to do it first time on this one. But someone got to it first. I especially like the altered image #2. It is about the detail or texture of the foreground shrubs that draw attention to with the seascape a sense of well breathing space.
