I dedicate this photo to Abmdsudi whose seascape photos are an ispiration.
Here you can see the front and the vast stretch of the beach. I spent two hours walking along the beach and photographing the setting and the people enjoying the pleasant Winter's afternoon.
"Brighton houses some of the wealthiest citizens in Melbourne with grand homes, and the development of large residential blocks of land. On the beach, Beach Road is a popular cycling route, with the Bay Trail off-road walking/cycling tracks also following the coastline.
Dendy Street Beach, just south of Middle Brighton, features 82 colourful bathing boxes, which are one of the tourist icons of Melbourne. The boxes share a uniformity of size and build, and a regular arrangement along the beach, and are the only surviving such structures close to the Melbourne CBD. A Planning Scheme Heritage Overlay on the boxes by the Bayside City Council restricts alterations, and all retain their Victorian era architecture, such as timber frames, weatherboard sidings, and corrugated iron roofs, without amenities such electricity or running water. The bathing boxes may only be purchased by residents paying local council rates, and as of 2008 were selling for prices in the range of A$200,000, with annual council rates of around A$500, despite their lack of amenities. In 2009 plans were announced to build at least six new bathing boxes in an effort by the council to raise funds in excess of A$1 million in light of the global financial crisis."

The light and the sky are making this shot. There is a great atmosphere and also a good rendering of the depth with this point of view playing with the perspective of the shore going far in background.

Hello Klaudio ,
Those beautiful coloured cabins provide a superb sbject for the photographer . The perspective is classical , but the light and the gorgeous sky are successful elements of the picture . Like the little people walking at the edge of the seashore , too .

Hi Klaudio, Nice shot of the beach boxes works well. Timing was great, with the dark clouds providing an interesting contrast with the sunlit boxes. BTW were there any further thoughts on a get together? cheers, Steve

Brighton in Australia? Brighton is in England :). great composition with the beautiful light you used so well. So many colourful beach houses and almost no people on the beach. Amazing. it would be nice to walk there.

a beautifully composed beach scene under a magical and magnificent sky. Wonderfully sharp and textured. A perfect execution and presentation. Nice to see that there are not such strict codes for painting the beach huts in Australia as there are in the UK's seaside Brighton!
Enjoy the day - regards - Brian.

The combination of cloudy skies and colored beach houses work well here. The colors really stand out under this gloomy weather. Nice inclusion of one or two people showing life here. Nice image with colors, texture and sharpness.

Very nice capture, I love the colorful cabinets and light on the sky. Good work.

Nice perspective created by the beach huts all the way down. I like how they start right from the edge of the frame with their bright colours. The texture on the sand from all the footprints is wonderful, and I like those dramatic clouds coming over giving good atmosphere to your beachscape.

Tx for the dedication:
Congrats, you really hit the jackpot tis time with this picture. A glorious beachscape and the drama above! It´s good that you have included so much of the magnificient skyscape and the threatening grey clouds as the most intriguing elements. The composition is super, the stunning red door is just at the right spot as effective focal, drawing the eyes smoothly thru' the colored bathing boxes diagonally to infinity boosting the depth immensely. The warm afternoon light almost at the end of the day highlighting the textures in those golden sand ripples and patterns so awesomely and you can almost feel the heat there and the contrast is so superbl against the sky. Those silhouetted tiny figs really give it a nice additional touch in the foreground to make this an outstanding shot. Great stuff.
Simply Stunning, Klaudio.

Hi Klaudio, nice beautiful scene with bathing boxes lined up like that on the beach looks interesting. Also the dynamism created by the dark clouds above, nice contrast, color & composition.

I love this place ..

Perhaps the most stunning of the series, if not the most subtle. A full blast of sunlight on the paintwork, a brilliant bit of sky plus everyman and his dog having a ponder. The viewpoint is great, with the nearest hut filling the frame vertically from the right edge. The eye is inexorably drawn from the red door to the distant last hut and then to the fractured sky. I'm glad you've drawn attention to the preposterous prices of these brightly coloured rat-holes (yes, I've seen them scurrying about between the huts after dark, and I'm not talking about the silver-heeled owners - well, some form of life is making more use of them than mere symbols of social status, anyway) which constitute one of the most photographed phenomena in Melbourne.

Lepa zamisao za sastav sa ovim kabinama u raznim bojama finom plažom i dramatičnim oblacima.
Velika dubinska oštrina.
Interesantan tekst kao i uvek.

Ciao Klaudio, I have never seen these bathing boxes in this light, very effective & dramatic. nice contrast between the overcast sky & the colourful well lit boxes.
kato (11630) 2011-08-18 4:53
You're capturing well a lot of lodges with which coast lines and coastline by a good angle and excellent tone, so it's impressive and interesting to see a lot of colorful lodges and winter beach where person is sparse. And, thick gray colud in the sky gives additional impressive effect for the whole, too.

ne mogu da se otmem impresivnom utisku o bojama i svetlosti na tvom snimku. Iako to retko komentarišem, privilegujući odlučnost trenutka realizacije, sada sam sasvim oduševljen i šta znači izaći u pravo vreme iz kuće. Inače uvek se radujem kada otvaram tvoju galeriju. kao da ti dolazim u goste na kafu i dalmatinsko vino.

Great point of view and composition.
The diagonal line of the beach houses
creates a nice depth to the picture.
The open space left in the picture
(the beach and the sea) makes the
picture nice calmness.
Also the light/exposure is great.
The beautiful sky is a nice extra,
like a cherry on a delicious cake....
Friendly regards and have a nice weekend,

Well captured scenery of famous Brighton Beach. The scary clouds give some extra thrill. I like your POV leading the eye to the horizon. TFS

For a moment I thought this was "Uk Brighton!". Wonderful mood in this shot and I love the light falling on the beach huts.
