One of my missions during my recent trip to the Mallee town of Birchip was to photograph the birds of prey, including the unique wedge tailed eagle. I only caught a glimpse of the eagle but Tim and I did spot this brown falcon perched high on the electrical wire. Tim, who was driving, pulled up by the roadside and inched his car forward in order to obtain for me the closest possible shot. One has to be very careful with such birds as they are very wary of humans since before all birds of prey became protected, humans used to blast them out from the sky. A few seconds later, after looking at us closely and studying the camera lens protruding from the side window, it flew away- but not before leaving this portrait of himself for me to enjoy and share.

Hello Dear Klaudio,
A beautiful deep blue skyline exhibited the bird on the rope very prominently, well sharped image and very natural color. Good time recording and well POV.
with warm regards,

It is a lovely portrait.
Only people who have tried to photograph birds of prey will appreciate how difficult it is to get good close-ups of wild birds.
The eye has a good catchlight.
The wire make a fine, angled perch, great for composition.
My warm regards,

Wonderful portrait of this magnificent bird. It looks great on the clean blue background - the sky, its natural environment.
Well done on getting the photo before he flew away!

Hi Klaudio, It is difficult to make a good photo of the birds in nature so I congratulate you for this. Fantastic picture, well composed and sharp. We haveno clue about the scale so it looks a bit like a sparrow, but of course, we se this is a bird of prey. It seems the fellow spotted you, looks with interest. But you were to big and not good, so flew away.

You've produced a classic shot of the majestic bird, the details as sharp as obsidian. I imagine a photograph like this calls for close coordination with your driver... gently inching up to the subject. I wonder if these creatures are indigenous to Australia?
Have a good weekend, Klaudio,
