Photographer's Note
One of the places that must not be missed when visiting Tasmania is the Bridestowe Lavender Farm, especially during January before all the lavender is harvested.
Bridestowe Lavender Estate , at Nabowla, Tasmania is considered one of the State's most spectacular vistas during flowering in December and January. The 265 acre site is noted for its manicured fields of lavender, beautiful gardens and sophisticated tourist facilities and attracts visitors throughout the year.

Leslie, this is a fascinating scene filled with texture, colour, patterns and wonderful perspective by which the man made and inspired foreground garden is contrasted by the mystical mountain in the distance. Lovely. Best wishes. Klaudio.

Dear Leslie,
Love this composition - it's a different approach to the usual shots of lavender fields with its curves, and the backdrop formed by the mountains is a bonus !

Hello Leslie,
I agree with Denis, this is a scene I would associate more with Provence, than with Tasmania. But of course it doesn´t change the fact the scene is beautiful.Your presentation of it is very attractive and even the cloudy sky doesn´t spoil it.Colors are magnificent.
Have a nice day

Hello Leslie,
I would never had associated Tasmania with lavender fields. I enjoy the neat, curved rows of lavender sweeping into the distance. The grey sky holds the picture in - a lovely image.

Hi Les
this is wonderful! The aromas must be heady here and a bee's paradise. I love the curves and the perfectly structured composition with the diagonal making it all so beautifully balanced. The lavender colours are echoed in the distant hillside haze. Stunning image Les!
Have a good week - Brian.

Brilliant curving lines of lavender Leslie and something I wouldn't associate with Australia at all! An original look at a favourite photographic subject. The four rows of green make the shot. Beautiful. Warm regards Rosmary

Hello Leslie,
this is by all means very beautiful shot and I have to say I like everything about it. The chosen POV and delicate angle of the slope make the whole composition more interesting and all the subtle colors contrasting with each other create very special atmosphere. Mountains in the far distance finish off the whole scene in elegant way.
Well done

Hi Leslie,
A strong composition that instantly captures the eyes.
These purple curves are so esthetic, and the smaller green ones bring light in the frame.
Very well done!

Very nice view. I like how the curves of the lavander are used in the composition to push the look toward the mountains in background. It gives a feeling of space to the shot.
Even the cloudy grey sky is participating to the mood, giving an overall blue-grey colors to the photo.

Hello Les,
Excellent capture of the flowering fields - a study of patterns in the FG with a spectacular view in the BG.
I visited the Bridestowe Estate a few years ago, the weather was exactly like this! I hope you enjoyed lavenda icecream and/or cake.
Warm regards,
Izabela

Hello Les,
wondedrfully composed photo with a lot of atmosphere. The dramatic sky, the hazy hills (both in different shades of blue), the diagonal line that divides the photo into two equal sized parts, and the parallel and circular lines of the lavender.

Hello Les,
I love the theme and composition of this picture. You have managed the long curving perspectives superbly and exalted their delightful rhythm effectively through a well considered narrow framing. I also love the diagonal that gives the upper part of the frame to an intriguing, silhouetted, distand landscape. The colours are very beautiful and so consistent with the theme. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great week,
Ourania

Hello Les
Great lines and colours and the way the well exposed f/g seems to be layered onto the shaded mountains creates depth. Great composition.

An eyecatching image The intensity of colour and the sweeping rows are very striking. The distant hills in softer tones make a perfect backdrop. Very well captured.
