Photographer's Note

The last rays of sunlight strike the face of Mt Bowen on Hinchinbrook Island. This untouched island is the largest national park island in the Great Barrier Reef.
It's a true gem and rightfully world-heritage listed.
The Thorsborne Trail, which runs almost the length of the island from north to south, takes 3-5 days to complete and is recognised as one of the most beautiful hikes in the world.
It's a land lost in time. Standing on the beach looking back at the rainforest and mountains, one almost expects to see a solitary pterodactyl riding the tropical air currents.

This photo was taken from Zoe Bay, about halfway along the length of the trail.
