Montville – Sunshine Coast Hinterland – Queensland

Montville is a pretty town situated within the Sunshine Coast Hinterland (North of Brisbane) and was first settled in 1887. Today is known as the "Creative Heart of the Sunshine Coast" as it is home to a range of quality art galleries that exhibit, and sometimes produce, works of great interest to all art lovers. Shoppers and tourists also love the many craft shops, fashion boutiques and gift shops that exhibit a staggering range of affordable, locally made items.

Today’s posting is about some interesting art (?) which can be seen and admired in many different places along the town main street. One of them is a giant flying fox (Fruit Bat), sculpted of motorbike parts and purpose metal cast sections as its wings.

Hallo Antonio!
Great, really great! What an outstanding and inventive work of art! A very interesting contribution to TE! Thank you for showing this!
Greetings from summerly Germany!
Frank

Hi Antonio,
phantastic dynamic capture of this flying fox. Due to your POV it looks as if it will be dripping from the tree immediately. Great capture and interesting note. May I ask you if you are regarding this as artwork?
Warm regards
Harriet

Josep

Hello Antonio,

Your picture is absolutely very well, what the art and the creation concern this is someting other, but I think that everyone must make a choice, which subject he find the most beautiful.
Colours and presentation are very well. TFS.

Have a nice sunday,
John.

Antonio,
Nice catch, and a very original piece of art !
I like the result, and your informative note.

Olá Antônio,
o nome ficou bem sugestivo.
Wagner.

A fun shot,Antonio, and it is matched by the informative not. Nicely framed and recorded. regards kevin

Hello Antonio! Today your title draw my attention to open the file and it is indeed a nice little piece of art that seems to hang in the woods and I wonder if it flies around or just hangs there :) Jean Tinguely was a Swiss artist that made art of old parts and reached world-wide fame and became cult status. One piece can be seen at the shores of Lake of Zurich and I remember my father whingeing if this was art but I guess now, many years later, he sees it as art as well, at least he tries. Interesting post, and you always have "these" questions but this time I have nothing to show that is similar ... Have a good week, Barbara.

Paulo

Hi Antonio,

what a weird creature ;-) A very funny statue and you've captured it very well. TFS

Hola Antonio

Original y buen trabajo.

Ciao Antonio,
interesting and curious work of art, very well captured with some beautiful colours and a beautiful light.
A very interesting contribution on te.

F

I like the POV. The fligth in the photo is impressive. It's a wonderful shot.
Best wishes,
Achim

Que coisa estranha, Antônio! Estranha mas realmente interessante e original! Valeu a publicação!

I can imagine this piece of art from Montville - creative and certainly something to look at. Suprising to see some people here dont even consider it art... what the? Of course it is, doesnt mean you have to like it or think it's good art, but that's exactlty what it is - art!

A TE meeting in Brisbane? If you can find others interested sure I'm up for it! Might be hard to organise - im not really aware of many other Brisbane TE members... but maybe they're out there!

Ho Antonio, I heard fruit bats steal a lot of fruit in botanical gardens and elsewhere, but lucky they are not built like this specimen!. Good clarity and crop of this original piece of art. TFS. Murray.

Ola Antonio

Bonjour, mon ami Antonio,

Carlos

Hello Antonio,
very original capture! I like this art object - like you say, its a unique use of otherwise useless materials. You present it perfectly with wonderful colors and sharpness.
Thanks and take care!

Hi Antonio,
I guess art comes in may guises, and it's in quite an interesting form this one. You couldn't exactly call it pretty, but it's a nice shot and the exposure is good too through the trees. Cheers for showing
Regards
Lee

Olá Antonio,

Someone had an interesting idea and lots of time to create this work of art. The image is well composed and the subject too interesting. Good details and excellent colours. Your point of view is excellent. Thanks Antonio.

Roberto

A rather strange metal bat. The slight rust gives a little color to the beast. Original, but not exactly to my esthetical taste.

All the best,

Emmanuel

Ola Antonio,
Your really framed and captured this interesting sculpture very well with excellent detail and color. We never could bring ourselves to leave the Queensland beaches in spite of spending a couple of months there in two different trips.

Hello Antonio,
this is an interesting piece of art--funny little title too;)
Great POV you selected; I like the composition and colorful presentation.

Ola amigo ,

Hello Antonio, Yes it is art, I think, not sure what the masters would think but I'm not a fan of Picasso either. It is almost camouflaged, blending in with it's surroundings really well.
Nice clear image with good colour.
Thanks
Santo

Hi Antonio,

what a curious view! Yes, art, maybe art, what would think Michelangelo seeing it? Great fantasy, no doubt. About the shot, good POV, it just seems there's a little lack of sharpness.
