Photographer’s Note
There are several walking tracks in Australia named the Kokoda Track - they have been given this name to honour the bravery of the Australian troops on the original Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea during WWII.
This is Brisbane's version on the slopes of Mt Coot-tha. It is somewhat shorter at 1km than the original Kokoda Track at 96kms. However the last stretch (as shown) close to Sir Samuel Griffith Drive is particularly steep. Brisbane's Kokoda Track is used by hikers training to walk the real thing as the climate and terrain are considered similar but without the mud. Others view it as a good walking track to get up the heart rate and produce a bit of sweat on a Sunday afternoon.

I never heard about it. Actually I only been once to Mt Coottha and it was many years ago. It is a photo that shows pretty well the steep track and the person in front look like struggling to get to the top. It is a nice shot.

Hello Marlene,
I wonder what's the smell like in this place, among all these trees! I can imagine the smell in a pine-tree or fir-tree forest... but here?.. :)
This photo reminds me of a scene from an adventure movie about travellers. Don't know why :) Maybe the colours? and big trees with tiny people?
Interesting composition and interesting note!
Warmest greetings from "up here",
Elena

Hi Marlene,
this is an image I appreciate very much because it shows an almost unknown place. A very well composed impression of the hiking trail with two obviously exhausted persons. Very interesting capture and note! TFS!
Warm regards

Dag Marlene,
When I look at the two man this seems to be a hard track to walk.
This seems to be a rather steep climb, although you can’t see that from the picture.
I like this action scene.

Hi Marlene,
Seem not easy to ascent on this sliding slope, you too, good frame to climbers to show that this is not a lonely site, clear to show foreground trunks, seem the clumps still young, thanks for sharing the view at the middle of clumps.

Hello marlene,
At the first glimpse this looks to me just like any other road in a park. Then I notice how the people are bent forward, obviously struggling hard to get up what I then realize is a very steep hill. A strange and rather amusing effect.
Along with the note, an interesting contribution.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Marlene,
A nice shot of this forest and walking track. The photo indeed shows the steepness of this point as the hikers have to make an effort to get up the hill. The photo resembles one similar slope of a hiking track in my city, but the trees here are totally different. Are these eucalyptus trees? I saw such in a nice park in Melbourne, but they were huge ones. I appreciate the map reference. Thanks for the good note too!
Best regards,
Lasse
