Photographer's Note
Eli Creek is the largest freshwater stream on the east coast of the island. It is an area of exceptional and pristine beauty. There are a number of wooden walkways and a short, circular route runs up one side of the creek and down the other. It is possible to swim in the lower reaches of the creek. (about 1.5 metres deep). On a hot day it is very cool and refreshing. Taken in midwinter, but it's still warm enough to swim. (25c). Nearest towns are Rainbow Beach, & Hervey Bay. Both are over 50 km away.
Eli Creek is not far from the Maheno shipwreck, which "centurion" posted recently. The ocean surf beach is in the distance. Almost the entire island is made of sand, & the water is so clear, you can see the ripples in the sand on the bottom of the stream.

The setting here looks like it might be from one of your SE Asia juants. Good PoV with the wooden walkway leading us into the frame.

HI Chris, it looks like a very nice place, I like the woodden path that gives depth to you photo and the very good light that reveals the clearliness of the water. Nice colors too.

Hi Chris - I really like the ricketty walkway and its shadow and the depth it provides in this shot. The colour of the water and the nice curvy line of the creek are lovely. Interesting to see this view of Fraser Island - I've only ever seen shots of the expanse of beach - would love to go there one day.

Cher Chris,

This is another very nice one, Chris. Very good use of the wooden walkway and the way in which it meanders through the frame. Great colors all around, particularly the turqouise hues in the clear water. Great shot.

It is in fact very beautiful and you showed it very well with your photo. The walkway is simply great leading in these curves into the picture and the clear, blue water is a good foreground. Well done.

It's another "paradise shot" in your album ! Great composition: The eyes just follow the stream curve to arrive to the sandy dunes and sea. Nice work !

A nice clear shot which brings back good memories. I don't know whether you swam down the creek, but it was bl**dy cold. Loads of huge spiders overhanging too. Good work.

Hi Chris,
You must be a pretty early riser to get this photo minus the usual crowds Eli Creek draws. Thanks for sharing.

I came across this photo a long time back, and I didn't comment then, or even add it to my favorites, so I forgot where it was! It's haunted me ever since so I am so happy I came across it again. This photo is beautiful - I love the colors, the POV, the way the boardwalk leads us into the shot, the clarity of the creek, everything.

Hello Chris,
Your collection of old slides seem unexhaustable: I wonder how you have been patient to post this beautiful view of Eli
Creek on Fraser Island, until now.
Congratulations on this one and many others too.

Bonjour Chris,
un endroit très séduisant, cadré intimement.
J'en aime beaucoup les couleurs et ce que l'homme y a apporté ou amené est discrèt et bien assorti.
Best regards.

Hi Chris,
The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The curve of the boardwalk leads our eyes toward the horizon which is giving depth to the photo. The point of view is showing the beauties of the scenery. The intensity of the light is enhancing the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.
Pierre
