Approaching Storm, a photo from Queensland, East

Photographer's Note

On the way home after enjoying a nice walk at the base of Mt Barney clouds started to heavily build up around the mountain and there was some thunder and lighting approaching. This was one of the incredible, dramatic cloud formations that I saw.

This is how the original photo looked. The only post-processing I did was resizing, USM and framing.

It's better to be inside that outside with these big dark clouds...

Those clouds look really thick and dark!
Excellent framing with just a stripe of tree silhouettes. I'd be tempted to do some contrast and tone adjustments, but I respect your decision to show it as is. Does this represent the imression you saw on your own eyes?

i like the compositon and the way clouds are stacked. cloud formation looks like moving band of soldiers going toward some enemies.
good capture.
question, was thereany rain after this?

Ominous, the clouds are huge in comparison to the trees. I'd expext a lightning coming down any moment...! Nice shot!

Totally situated in the bottom are the silhouettes of the trees waiting for what's coming next. This sky is amazing, you only photographed the weather here and this is.... did I already say "amazing" ?
