Photographer’s Note

The scenery along the Queensland coast, from Port Douglas to Cairns and beyond, is magnificent and largely unspoiled . It is ever changing. It has rocky cliffs, broad beaches and rich mangrove flats. Often too is has those vast Australian skies and a wonderful light. I suppose landscapes are ultimately only pretty pictures, as Ken Alexander wrote, in a recent critique, "All landscape photography is iconic," that is, ‘a cliché’. Ultimately , I suppose, it says, what much of TE photography says, that is, 'If you went to this place, this is what you would see. So, anyway, I made some pictures of this wonderful stretch of coast ,as I traveled down it ,in lovely Spring weather, just to say "This is what it looks like".
