Photographer’s Note

Yesterday, I spent my Sunday whale watching just offshore the town where I live.

Every year the magnificent Humpback Whale (megaptera novaeangliae) migrate to and from Australia during the months of May to November. As they make their way through the warm waters, they feed, mate and play in the clean clear blue waters of Queensland.

Intelligent and naturally curious mammals, the whales greet their visitors with playful behaviour that will both charm and inspire any person.

The Humpback Whale is a mammal which can range between 12 and 16 meters long and weighs approximately 36 tonnes.

Also, you can find two different photos in WS. They show how close we can get to the whales.
