Photographer's Note

Lonely Beaches are not hard to find in Australia, but colours as spectacular as here can only be found on Coral Islands. Most islands off the coast of Queensland are relicts of the sunken mainland.
Heron Island - off Gladstone - the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef is completely made of coral and offers a resort and easy access by boat of helicopter. It is comparable to no other GBR Island.
The colurs are hard to believe but once you wear sunglasses with polarized lenses or use a camera with a circular pol filter it will be exactly like this.
