Photographer’s Note
I was at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast yesterday and I looked up and saw this brightly coloured scene. The colours are exactly as I saw them and have not been saturated further. I thought of posting a vertical image of the scene but I felt the row of silhouetted Norfolk pines was a bonus. The brightly coloured high-rise would appear to be an apartment block rather than a hotel tower - just one of many at the Gold Coast.

I was at the Gold Coast too, not yesterday but on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It was a short break after six weeks offshore work.
It is a nice upwards shot. The polariser worked very well, bringing up the nice colours of the building. Well done.

Hello Marlene! Great composition, you had the eye to make this picture work so well. Love the yellow-white building peaking up to this beautiful blue sky with no single cloud to be seen and how you included the trees on the side but also in the middle. Modern architecture with a little nature left for us. Very nice work, I like it a lot. Best regards, Barbara.

Hi Marlene,
This must be LEGO! Is this for real? A fantastic building and marvellous colours. I like the simple composition with those lonely trees in the foreground and the deep blue sky behind.
Kind regards

Brilliant, Marlene!
These colours remind me of the Festival of Britain in 1951 when suddenly all these pure saturated colours started to appear after the greyness of the war years.
Thanks,
Winifred

dear Marlene,
this looks a surrealistic picture to my eyes and sensation...
shining yellow and white, and deep blue and black make illusionary contrast in this visual space.
which is the future dominant colors, I cannot expect, but both the light and the silhouette suggest one unusual next world, in my feeling.
thank you for your excellent shot,
Akihisa

Hi Marlene,
what a strange view! As already mentioned by Gunnar, this building looks like LEGO-toy due to these typical colors. But you have realized the artistic potential of the colors excellently. The framing by the pines is also very attractive. TFS!
Warm regards

Hello Marlene,
A stunning composition with colours saturated almost to the extreme, with a very good result. In some way, these very real buildings and trees have turned into abstractions.
An excellent observation.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Marlene,
at first, I thought just like you: what about a vertical variant of the photo? But I agree: the pines are a really nice addition. And the bright, richly saturated colours make it a very effective shot :) Simple, very graphical and effective!
Conclusion: we must always carry a camera with us because we never know what we can see on our way!
Kindest regards,
and best wishes for Sunday!

Hi Marlene,
Very careful composition and excellent colour contrasts.
Your picture looks a little beat surreal.
Perfect work!
