Walking home from work I was bemused to see army helicopters flying so low over the river in Brisbane. I realised there was no emergency but that they were preparing fro the air and fireworks show at the River Fire festival that happened that weekend, where the city is lit up by fireworks and F-11 fighter planes etc.
Taken with Samsung Galaxy mobile phone using the "retro cam" app.

Justin - more evidence that you don't need a fancy camera to take great pictures. The retro filter on the phone makes this a dramatic shot, could be a still from a movie or TV show. Amazing detail on the mist rising from the water in a circle under the copter, and the little boat moving along the right side of the frame is perfectly placed. Well done capturing this with what must have been very little time to prepare.

You captured a good moment here of the Tiger army helicopter. Good to get both the curve from the city cat and the ripples from the chopper. I like the layering of the buildings and the moody lighting. The arc of sunlight is interesting also. Not bad quality considering the device used to capture it.

ah! at the moment I am also fooling around with my Galaxy II and a couple of apps :) - the Lomo one is my favourite at the moment, only I am not able to download the pics on my Mac yet, it seems I need some kind of program for the Mac to see the Samsung...
anyway - cool shot, slightly oneiric I would say... I don't know why but these colours, this tone range always reminds me of the '70s :)

your retro shot looks indeed like a Holga middle format shot, especially the vignette and the greenish color. That adds a nice atmosphere to all of that scene and makes it look like back in the days!
