Photographer’s Note

A woman and her dog relax at the end of Wynnum Pier in the Brisbane bayside suburb of Wynnum.

Wynnum is situated in Moreton Bay and is 25 kms from Brisbane's CBD. In the distance is North Stradbroke Island - one of the world's largest sand islands.

I always like this kind of composition with simplicity and basic elements of attraction - water, rock and sky.

I think this POV showing the steps and the woman on a bench is a fine capture that gives a perception that the space of sea belongs and waits for the woman :)

An image full of tenderness with this lady and its dog in the middle of an immensity.
A nice image too with a very good balance in the composition, the reflection in the FG give a pleasant graphic effect. Superb blue color in the sky and in the sea too.

although they both are so tiny in the compo this is a real good shot marlene... not only them but also the clouds behind look so cool, adding another dimention to the compo... really nice, my compliments...

I guess this is one of most beautiful images in your gallery. perfect the minimalist mood, the lines, the soft colrs and light, the personages nicely put inside the place, amazing view, with a great sense of art. there is a dialogue between the pier and the clouds. congratulations, perfect job

Ah, lovely. I've had a big smile on my face since this came up on the screen. So few colours, so many horizontal lines. And a few foreground waves paralleling the dog and the slant of the woman. Calm perfection.

Hi Marlene,
A well thought-out composition with an obvious balance. The very straight and rigid lines of the pier contrast against the irregular forms of the clouds. The bench with woman and dog adds a certain interest to the assembly.

Hello Marlene,
I don't know what words to find to express what I feel when I look at this photo. It is very expressive, very emotional.
It does not really look "your style", if you see what I mean:)
It looks like a drawing - an illustration from a book. I don't know why but the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this photo was "Francis Scott Fitzgerald"! such a strange association.
I don't know what to say, really. The composition looks perfect. But, to me, this photo looks more than just philosophic.
It should be in my collection of "amazing landscapes" :)

You have captured QLD weather as it should be not that you could say that about it lately! Great composition, very simplistic yet appealing. That little dot of red in the womens lap adds just a little touch of colour to the blue scene. Well seen and captured.
