Photographer’s Note
every australian town and village has an annual agricultural esposition, generally known as 'the show'. they are perhaps unique in the sense that they include a travelling sideshow and fair, like a circus, and are major events with a local public holiday.
the brisbane version attracts around 300-400000 people during its 8 days.
the chairlift transports people from an area which includes dog breeding championships and honey tasting, to a place which includes rodeos and roller coasters.
domestic animal champions include anything from bulls to parrots, llamas, fish, miniature goats, and who knows? there are also prize fruits and vegetables - the perfect pumpkin etc
and yes - there are large competition halls displaying crafts such as photographic, sewing, cooking, sculpture, painting, etc etc.
there are also some traditional 'show' foods to eat here. most are disgusting, but consumed in huge quantities.
you need a whole day and some of the night to experience it. and each night finishes with a fireworks display
ps - photo original, not touched on ps. i may have accidentally sharpened it twice before loading it here, but definitely no saturation or manipulation. photo taken around 20 minutes before night time, which may have something to do with it.

Hi Perry,
Good combination of linear chairlift and round ferris wheel. Composition works well and it's interesting to read how this is just a temporary installation. I'd love to see such a fair myself, they are in Finland too, but not that big.
This looks somewhat oversharpened though.

Hello,
Funny and surrealist composition ! It looks like the wheel is getting free, and people are "unrolling" from it !! Who knows where they're going to now... ;)

It is a great shot with good saturated colours and a very interesting POV. Well done.
Where in Australia do you live?
Antonio
