Photographer’s Note

Travelling back towards Sydney along the Hume Highway is a small township called Jugiong. This photograph was taken south of Jugiong and inlad west from the highway.

Good old corrugated iron has been used for every type of farm building; food container, vehicle shed and a big shed (all seen here in this shot). Who the farm belongs or how long it has been operating I don't know.

I cropped some of the sky out due to me competing with the sun in order to catch a shot of this location.

Hi Graham,
That's a nice look at rural NSW, the little grain silo and the rest of the corrugated iron buildings really look the part.
I think what this shot suffers from is the flat light, lack of contrast and low saturation. Going on the shadows the sun is almost overhead, I know you have to takem when you getem, but low, almost horizontal light would make the world of difference to this image.
I like this shot because I'm familiar with the country and I love the look of rural Australia but there isn't much going on here that might excite TE viewers from other parts of the globe.
What I'm trying to say "badly I think", is that you've gone past the stage of taking happy snaps, you need to start putting some of your learned technical skills into your shots.
I'm suffering a hangover you could photograph, so please excuse my lack of tact.

Hi Graham, Mint Slicesque if I may say so. I've done a WS but I'm not sure it's improved your already good photo. Nice composition, I like the higher POV and the sky has been exposed well. Hope you got the report done, TFS, Lisa

A good shot of an area of NSW that I've always loved - good composition and good effects with the grass in the foreground. Having said that I tend to agree with both Peter's and Lisa's comments.

Hello Graham,
I like the composition! It is interesting and VERY good :)
And a good idea to crop part of the sky to concentrate on the ground.
I wonder why the colours are not too bright, taking into account the fact that the day was sunny enough..? Anyway, I like it that the colours look natural and are not oversaturated!
