Weddin Mountains Photo

Photographer’s Note

I'm just back from a few days in the Grenfell area in the central west of New South Wales. One of the main reasons for the visit was to go to the Weddin Mountains, popular 150 years ago for bushrangers to hide and for spotting coaches carrying gold to hold up.
On a beautiful spring morning the wheat was green and the clouds over the mountains were interesting. I've cropped excess wheat and sky for a panorama style photo.

Hi Ian.
Great idea to crop to panorama proportions. It emphasises the vastness of this landscape. Must have had some rain in the area - we certainly have had a bit in Melbourne over recent weeks. I like the well polarised sky with its wispy Spring time clouds. It's all quintessentially Australian. Nice work with your fantastic camera!

Yes, I agree with Andrew, the pano crop works well. That is such a beautiful part of NSW, I haven't been there for years, looking at your shot, I must put it onto my to do list.
Excellent image, great quality too. Looks like you K20D blokes like to stick together.

Hi Ian, what great texture there is in this photo from both the crops in the FG to the wonderful sky. I know these mountains well, having spent many a long hot summer in Grenfell with some wonderful friends. Lovely shot, thanks for sharing it, Lisa.
