Photographer’s Note
...a nice day of 26 degrees, 5 foot surf, slight offshore breeze...
For me, my favorite 10-20mm Sigma, a grad filter to knock down the sky...

Hello Mike
wow, what a sky and what a perspective. it all results in a dynamic composition. I also like the way the horizontal surfboard interacts with the vertical lighthouse.
Congratulations

Hej Mike!!
I love the light management in this photo.
Fantastic clouds, and mood in general.
Maybe you could sharpen it a bit, but it is really good,
greetings, Anna

Wide angle is a great choice here, Mike--I feel like that surfer is walking right past me into the frame, and those clouds overhead add a lot of depth. Nice late-day light, too.
It must be some special filter to fit on a 10-20 mm lens, right? That's a lot of angle for a filter to cover!
Regards, Ken.

Hi Mike,
I like the stretched perspective created by the wide angle, which creates more interest and appeal. The near-by surfer is the important subject in this composition, as he firstly provides the reason for being there....surfing.....and secondly he is looking towards the setting sun, which forces us to move our focus in that direction. The clouds too draws our eyes towards the distant lighthouse. The image has a nice natural feel to it. Well done.
Cheers Grant

Great use of the wide-angle here. It works so nicely with a grand sweep of clouds like you captured. The surfer is a good focal point to add some interest to the shot. Nice job.

Hi Mike, just had a quick look through your gallery and this one jumped out at me. The WA lens has worked well for you here, giving great depth and dynamism to the shot. A typical Aussie scene, well portrayed. Cheers, steve
