Photographer’s Note

Very much enjoying this part of the blue mountains. This time trying out some new technologies. Firstly the 70-200 f4 L lens. Impressive piece of glass to be sure. My first telephoto, and I'm still getting used to the narrow perspective, as I've become so used to wide angle. Secondly, first time post processing with Photoshop CS3. No Adobe Gamma Loader with this version, so had to do some reading on color management as I had some yellow casts the first time I opened my photos. Slowly getting my head around it, confusing as it is.

Hope you enjoy this closeup shot.

On a technical note, all post processing adjustments were very subtle. The lens captured the image quite well. The image just seemed a little pale, possibly due to weaker sunlight in this section of the walk.

1. Levels adjustment layer to increase contrast.
2. Selective color adjustment layer to bring out the greens a bit more.
3. Very subtle fine tuning with curves adjustment layer.
4. Smart sharpen: radius 0.1 at 100%.
