Photographer’s Note
Following on from my last post, this is the next waterfall we came to on our hike through the Jamieson Valley. Much higher than the first small waterfall and a lot more exposed. The wind by now was getting very strong, the effect it had was to blow the water spilling from the cliff all over the place, creating rainbows which would hang in the air for just a few seconds, then disappear when the wind shifted and the spray was blown in another direction. I hope you like the shot, dammed near killed me getting up to this part of the track.

Hi Peter,
A splendid rainbow , what I understand is that taking these kind of pictures can be very dangerous ....
Your POV, the sharpness, the polarized sky and the fantastic natural beauties are all superb.

G'day mate!
Now I'm impressed! Great colours displayed here - maybe the rainbow was coming from your sweaty brow??? You've managed to include a 'true blue' Aussie sky and some gum tree leaves - but no rock wallabies?
Good stuff!

Hello Peter!
It seems to be a pretty wild place and your photo has very good qualities to present it to all of us! I specially like the way you have managed to get the rainbow in it! The vertical format was the best choice as well! I miss a bit of sharpness, but nothing that bothers me too much! A great pov and a very good composition compensates it!
TFS - congratulations!
Warmest regards,

Hello Peter,
I think this is still within sight from your backyard too! Just about 2 hours drive...LOL. The hike through the Jamieson Valley proved to be worthwhile to get an opportunity for a shot like this. The rainbow is no doubt the best element in this fine composition, but I also like the bit of blue sky framed by the branch which has the same curvature with the mountain skyline. The varied tones of green in the vegetation which clad the rocky cliff is definitely a pleasing sight.
Hope you have a good Christmas and New Year holidays.

Alfred

Hi Peter,
Vertical framing works well on this. Beautiful waterfall that looks great from this lower viewpoint. Red rocks make good combination with bright green trees. And that rainbow is special.

Great capture of the rainbow, Peter. The shot is well composed, although the clouds are a bit wishy washy, and I wonder if you could dispense with them altogether. The exposure of the rock, the fine spray-haze and the rainbow itself is superb. I haven't been to this area for quite a few years and can't remember if I saw these falls at all. I wasn't a TE fanatic in those days, though.
Regards,
and best wishes for Xmas

Hi Peter,
You were at the right place at the right time to get this great rainbow in front of the cliffs with their reddish colours and green vegetation. Good work.
This waterfall is Wentworth Falls, one of the highest in the Blue Mountains. You managed to get both the upper and lower falls in the photo, which requires a pretty wide angle lens, as I recall from when I was last there. You can walk all the way to the bottom of the falls, where there is some nice rainforest, but then you have to walk back up again.
Cheers,
Vince

Hi, Peter.
This location, minus waterfall, is a dead-ringer to a spot on the North Kaibab Trail, way below the Grand Canyon North Rim. And since the moment at the time I was hiking with the wrong shoes it nearly killed me too, a couple times... Now, this is a GREAT shot. Most specifically, the way you managed the light in wind and spray moisture deserves nothing but praise. Truly an awesome view, perfectly framed, TFS! Have a nice day, I'll be seeing you.
Fulvio.

Fantastic waterfall.
Usually to get a rainbow you have to stand at a certain angle against the waterfall, here that angle appeared to be a fantastic point of view.
Congratulations,
M
