Photographer's Note
This is another from the sunrise shoot with Lisa (delpeoples) at Terrigal. This is a completely misleading shot but my favourite from the morning. The cloud formations were amazing and we were there to shoot dawn however I felt hampered by an enormous incoming tide which would change 4 or 5 metres with each wave ( I will attempt to post a couple of shots to workshop to demonstrate this) which meant that it was not possible to get down low for foreground interest. I also found it difficult to shoot directly into the sun this particular morning...however.... in a workshop with a great Aussie photographer recently he commented that sometimes on a shoot it pays to turn around and look behind you because it just may be the "money" shot is not where you expect it to be. I think in this case he was spot on. I love the soft fluffy clouds and rich colours in the rock which is eating patiently to be warmed by the upcoming sun,

You are right, this image is beautifully soft, whcih is strange when teh subject is rocks! I guess its helped with that lovely effect again on the water and the rich colouring.

Hello Kathryn,
I like the steely blue tones with just a hint of early morning pink, the rocky FG has a deal of interest and the triangle of the headland works well.I`m not sure of the sky line in the middle of the frame but it seems a shame to lose any of the gorgeous sky, quite a dilemma...
Best regards Les.

Hi dear Kathryn
Yes, it all looks so calm here, so very deceptive it was. I really like the cool blue caste to the image and how the cliff still contrasts with its warmer tones. The slightly misted water is lovely and everything is so nice and sharp. A well-composed and well-exposed image, congratulations.
Hugs
