Photographer's Note
Daybreak at Terrigal. Another from my jet lag shoot yesterday- today I slept much better :) so no new dawn photos.
The jagged rock ledges always fascinate me and make great foreground interest. This was originally a portrait format but the top section of sky quite dark and ominous and I felt it cropped to a square format more nicely as it lightened the image and was less heavy and sombre.

Hello Kathryn,
the curved line of the rock ledges wandering through the frame combined with their textures give the shot a deal of interest.
The early morning colours are delightful.
Best regards Les.

Kathryn,
I like how the rock formations sweep around to the right leading the eye into the centre of the photo. Great limited colour pallet.

This is a beautiful composition. I like the minimal colours and the way the curve of the rocks draws the eye along the water to the dramatic cloudy sky. The effect of the show shutter speed works perfectly here. I like the square format too.

Hello, Good compositional elementswith a strong leading line with the rocks in the fg. Monotone colors lend a soft and moody element to the shot.

Hello Kathryn
Superb muted colours and an interesting square crop from your full-frame file. Peaceful, restful, yet those waves breaking out past the rocks suggest something different is coming in with the tide... Good work, and I'm glad you got some rest!

Hello Kathryn,
The light is very beautiful and the whole picture has a kind of end of the world feeling. I like the way the sky and the horizon seem to meet and melt into each other. The scene conveys a peaceful mood, with a delightful sky and its reflects on the calm water. Beautiful work.

Hello Kathryn - You seem to be drawn to sunsets and rises and they are often eschewed by serious photographers although I cannot think why. This one appeals to me very much. I think the quality of the beautiful light shines through better here than in many very 'colourful' shots. There is a soft and magical atmosphere that loud colour would drown out. Beautiful FG detail in the rock pavement. I feel as if I am sat watching this scene in person. Lovely and peaceful! Warm regards rosemary
