Opera House in Sydney again. I feel a bit like a challenge to show it differently. It is the scene on the steps.
Memories of my wonderful day with Trekkers from Sydney area; Lisa, Dawn, Ian, Graham, Gus and Colin. We started our meeting in Queen Victoria Building, then we saw Mayday manifestation, walked through the Royal Botanic Garden, and then to Opera. They seemed already tired there so I went to the opera hall with Ian, and others waited outside. The meeting ended with a delicious lunch.
[I plan my next trip in September. I would like to visit about 40 different places - castles, cliffs, abbeys, the most beautiful towns in France, gardens and so on, over 4000 km by car in two weeks. And I call my husband lazy!]
Thank you all!

Hi Malgo. Trust you to come up with an original POV. Even if you were photographing a rock, I am sure that we would end up seeing it anew. Those people in the middle remind me of stained glass as the light illuminates them. Great timing, excellent approach. Pozdrav. Klaudio.

Very attractive shapes of this architecture. I like the scene, nice atmosphere.

A close view of the archi.-details of the famous Opera in Sydney. People scale superbly what appear as giant modern structure of glass and concrete.
Fine outlines and good light-management on.

Tu sembles beaucoup voyager. Cela permet de rencontrer beaucoup d'amateurs de photo de par le monde. Ici, c'est un point de vue très différent de l'opéra qui permet de l'admirer sous un autre angle.

Ciao cara Itchy feet
Ah yes, the final shot before our lunch. I remember lazing in the sun, being a Lazy Feet as you walked off into the blue with Ian. I like the tight framing here and of course the horizontal graphism of the steps contrasts so nicely with the other - more well known graphism of those amous sails.
Bonne voyage en Francia! Give my best regards to the real Lazy Feet :)
And let me know when you run out of Vegemite and I will post some over :D

A nice attempt to capture something not seen in every picture of this famous building. This close-up gives me a better idea of its dimensions and various elements. As always the people give the view a liveliness, and those standing near the top of the stairs have the light falling very nicely on them.
(I admire those who can keep up with your pace and never-ending enthusiasm for several days and I don't blame them for sometimes getting a bit tired. Do you ever relax during your journeys? Like sitting in a café just watching people walking by and digesting all the things you have seen?

Challenge accepted and conquered...I think you've done a great job showing this most impressive and recognizable attraction in a manner not only befitting its beauty, but also in an original way. I can honestly say that I've never come across a photo with this composition and perspective, and it looks great. I'm most drawn in by the shapes, patterns and lines. There's a lot to take in here from a graphic standpoint, and it all is very pleasing on the eyes. Compliments on creativity, very well presented! Have a terrific day ahead.

Hi dear Malgo
Your passion toward to Australia reamins still heart up, but I understnad you so well. Very attractive country, I shall go there as soon as possible. Great and bold cropping makes the best framework. Very stable format as usual.
Thanks a lot and have a good day! Takero

Nice and different view of that very well known building. The panorama like cropping, the steps and the arches add a lot of graphical strength.

Budowla znana z zupelnie innych kadrow, ale z tej perspektywy robi rownie duze wrazenie. Ciekawie wyszukany kadr, przy takim przyblizeniu do opery dosc ciasno w nim, ale niezmiernie ciekawie

Your desire to show this from a different aspect has been achieved. I think this close-up has provided quite a different 'feel' to the building. We can see the shapes individually, with details of construction, materials and reflections, which are not present in views of the whole.
My warm regards,

I really like your composition is rich in many beautiful graphics and geometric patterns, also excellent light and clear details even in the shadows, the image is clean and well crop...

It's nice to be back at Trekearth, although I have been mostly an absentee member this past year. Just tonight we had dinner with close friends. One of them is a very old friend and former professor of political science who frequently visits Australia on business. He spoke about the cultural differences of Sydney and Melbourne, and of course the Sydney's iconic landmark, the Opera House. As a long time fan of Joan Southerland, I was especially interested in the Opera House. I certainly helped transform Sydney into an opera loving country, but he mentioned that there aren't many operas held there any more. Your photo is superb, one of the best I've seen of the famous building.
