Photographer's Note
This is a photo of Rubber Duck, the latest urban installation by Netherlands artist Florentijn Hofman. Rubber Duck is just one of the many exhibits that are part of the Sydney Festival, and is on display 24 hours a day until 23 January.
Other places the Rubber Ducky has visited: Osaka, Auckland, St Nazaire (home of Olivier), Hassalt, Sao Paolo, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Wassenar, Nuremburg, Onomichi, and Elst.
Thanks to Luciano for this photo. He asked whether I had a photo of the Yellow Duck, as he had read about it in Italy. I did not, so chose a day when the weather was good and went to visit it. I dedicate this photo to Luciano (lousat).
ITALIANO: Grazie a Luciano, si tratta della papera gialla della Festa di Sydney. Poco tempo fa, Luciano mi ha chiesto dove stata La Paparona. Eccola qua! Mille grazie Luciano, te la dedico!

Ciao Lisa,
Where I live we have a duck race on the river to get some money for the regional hospital.I must say that they are a lot smaller then this one. The city is beautifull in the back.
Have a nice weekend

Ciao Lisuccia bella
Tante bellissime cose

See, now here's a good way to get someone's attention from the thumbnails! A nice and funny shot in Sydney's attractive harbor - and that is one big duck! Are all of the pieces in this installation quite this noticeable?

Hi Lisa
You ever see one of those pictures that makes you wonder what exactly was in the last cup of tea you drank? Well this does that for me me, and I a really cool way. The shot is excellent, I loe shots of urban scenes that contain lots of nice buildings to look at, but the additn of a giant rubber duck can only enhance that :) What a really funny art installation. I wonder if when he finishes his holiday in Australia, will he sail around the world and see other places? It would be great if Ducky there got to travel the world and make lots of images as cool as this one. It's a strange effect too, putting him by the city makes the buildings take the effect of being toy buildings.
All the best
Noel

Hello Lisa, a really funny image here. The duck is huge! I can see that you had a good light on the shot. I've seen something similar in Venice some years ago only there were pink crocodiles on the buildings. Good idea!
Regards!

Howdy Rubberduckielisa,
Hopefully your marine duckie will venture to California?
Attention getting harbor fantasy for the impressive floating duckie, the low level light especially its effect on the water and the window reflections.
I am envious for your Sydney Festival, and perhaps no better place to be on earth?
congratulations,

Hi Lisa
I'm going to resist saying what a few others have said, about 'quacking' it up lol
I have a couple of jokes but i'll resist lol
Is there something wrong with me if I tell you that the architecture and city scape in the bg caught my attention first!?!
Imagine trying some upclose and abstract photos with that duck! hmmm...
cool scene i have to admit, I'm sure it puts a smile on everyone's face.
funny one
cheers

Hi Lisa
This is a nicely observed piece of impressive shot. I am almost tempted to say That's the way quack it' I like the shot for a few reasons. It splits into two parts; the stunning rhs has a punch cheery feel and connect the eyes, while we get to enjoy the wonderful concreate jungle at the same time and how well these are blended together, the interaction grabs my attention and makes the flow work well, this actually lifts and make this image. Good composition and nice timing to capture, good tonal range and superb balance exposure in subtlime colors and lighting. Needless to mention, the golden sheen is mouth-watering indeed even a blind person will be able to sense this!!
A remarkable shot.
Warm regards

Ciao cara Lisa,
Complimenti e grazie!
Tanti saluti e buona giornata,
Ourania

Ha, ha! Lisa! It's a quacker!
It is part of the objective of an artist to attract attention and this one certainly works!! The items around help us to gain an impression of the scale of this huge birdie!
Very well composed witha fine dof and nicely saturated.
Have a lovely Sunday,

Hi Lisa,
That is larger than life! Really fun one, is this in Darling Harbour? That has to be seen from a bit further away, I wonder if immediate neighbours see it as just a nuisance.
Tampere also has it's own rubber duck sculpture, I should shot it some day.

Dear Lisa,
you haven chosen an excellently working POV on this fascinating duck. Very interesting perspective.
Is this peculiar installation art? It is a funny image however and fortunately there is no universally accepted definition of art! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Lisa,
As I said you on FB, this Rubber Dock stayed a few months not far from where I love, in a port called Saint Nazaire. A funny and very friendly sculpture indeed ! Unfortunately I had no time to see it :( You caught it under a very beautiful light. The buildings behind give us the scale of this impressive scuplture.
Have a nice week,

Too big for my bath Lisa but what fun! Art? Well it must illicit plenty of controversy but that's nothing new to the art world is it? A great shot, beautiful light on the architecture and sparkles on the water. Have a quacking (oh dear these awful puns ;)) week. Rosemary

Hello Lisa
Now is that the attack of the giant rubber duck? Great scene, the boats and even the houses in the back are dwarfed against that thing.
But even without the giant duck, this would have been an excellent cityscape shot. Wonderful colors and a very pleasing light makes this a pleasure to look at.
have a good week
