Photographer's Note
This is a view of King Street in Sydney's Central Business District. The window you see on the left is part of a display in the Louis Vuitton shop, which now occupies one of the grand old bank buildings.
In my Workshop is the Black & White version.

Hello Lisa
Talk about coincidences. Did you know that not more than a couple of hours ago this was posted by May Jayne (mayjayne)? Different city, different continent, same display. We really do live in a global village and corporate culture is killing individuality.
Red vs blue; organic shapes vs architectural geometry. Interesting stuff

Ciao Lisa,
Buona notte

Ciao Lisa,
Have you been splashing at LV, you naughty girl? I have to say that I prefer the black and white version here, though the main posting has its charm. The point of view is well chosen showing the stark contrast between the strange window display and the surrounding high rise buildings. I like also the couple walking down the street. Just think b&w suits the mood better and tones down the rather garish window. Being old fashioned I suppose, but there you go.

Dear Lisa,
Yes - what a coincidence !! :)
I like your B&W version better - the lines seem cleaner and all the details, especially the reflections, care better seen.
Regards,
May

Hi Lisa,
I'm not one for shopping, but I must admit that a window display that can grab my attention will definitely feature huge colorful tentacles. What an odd display. Excellent shot with the reflection of the beautiful glass buildings, it not often we enjoy modern architecture and stylish lost sea creatures in the one image :)

A really interesting display here, Lisa! The tentacles seem to be chasing the passers by, or are at least aware of them :) Great reflections, though I note that the sky seems to be brighter in the reflection than in reality - a trick of the glass, maybe? The B&W version is eye-catching as well, and in some ways I prefer it, though it's a shame to lose the bright colors of the window.

Ciao Lisuccia
Salutissimi

Hello Lisa,
What a splendid composition, here ! I love the way you cleverly framed the scene, using the street as a good lead in to the modern buildings in the BG whose reflection takes us back to the shop window, and then we've come full circle. I specially appreciate how the arcitecture invites itself into this window display. A very well thought and executed photo.
Have a nice week.

Hello Lisa,
Amazing that you and May Jane posted images of virtually the same display from such very different parts of the world - http://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/Spain/Catalonia/Barcelona/Barcelona/photo1383094.htm
Very interesting but I am unable to figure out what the display really is about. Perhaps you can provide the answer. I do notice, though, that they seem to be tentacles of octopuses. Very interesting POV.

Ciao Lisuzza,

G'day Lisa,
Love this shot. Both the colou and B&W versions have appeal and it is hard to decide which I prefer. It is certainly an interesting window display ( not too much of the merchandise on show , lucky you mention who it belongs to :). I like the reflections, so sharp and the contrast between the red tentacles and their curved organic forms contrasted against the modern geometric architecture in blue shades. Well seen and captured. I do like the somewhat oblivious feel to the people passing by
Have a great week

Hello Lisa!
This picture can be put without doubt under the cathegory "graphics". Ones mind finds it pretty hard to focus on something, but that is exactly what I like about it. Very good job!
All the best

Ciao cara Lisa,
Complimenti e grazie!
Tanti saluti e buona settimana,
Ourania

Ciao cara Lisa,
WOW! This is brilliant!
A wonderful composition in which you have so expertly matched the exposure in the street with that in the window display perfectly. But how curious that May Jane should post a not dissimilar picture, also of a L.V. display, this very day?
I've compared your picture with your workshop one and for me it's just got to be the colour version. The b & w image is excellent but I think that the differences in colour between the display and the street scene really do add to the attraction of this photograph.
Of course, the reflections of the tall buildings and the couple walking away from you also add to the interest.
Fabulous colours, perfect exposure (in very difficult conditions), great depth of field and exquisite details and sharpness.
Truly Brilliant!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hey Lisa
Not sure if surprised is the right word, but i'm tired, so I'll go with it
I'm surprised how well the monochrome version POPS compared to the color version.
sometimes the monochrome can do that, and i think you found the perfect subject for it.
I have to agree with Stephen in that i prefer the WS photo over this one, but it still has its merrits of course.
a totally different subject for you, I would expect to see this from Juan - he likes doing the half wall window reflection shots like this one :)
cool shot, i like it
cheers

Well positioned in front of LV store front-window, Lisa, show beautiful street view mirror's, and the unique display within.
Not quite understood what the decorator of a luxury business meant to show, but it do's look intriguing.
Thanks for warm greetings.

Hi Lisa
These tentacles or some kind stuff from the sci-fic movie dominate almost half of total space. But their contribution is tremendous and so inflencial to the eyes, a lot to see and wonderful colors to absorb with excllent mixed lightings. The pov works well extending the depth into the distance and equally intriguing are those cool reflections and shadows that invite the eyes into another dimension, and you are so close standing obliquely to avoid your own shadows in the image frame. This is an excellent observational image, the normal showcase windows turns to something special to drag the eye in, and the way you have presented it. Creative shot, Well done, TFS.
Warm regards
Cricri

Hello Lisa
Belle soirée a toi

Hey Naughty Girlfriend.
Really cool shot here, I love the abstract quality the reflection and the actual element inside the store give an impression of a double exposure. The worm or octopus like tentacles give and eerie feeling and interesting abstract shapes. I love the colors and a nice combination of both inside the shop and the reflection of the exterior.
I like the b&w version a little more if I have to choose.

Very intersting effect you create with your choice of POV and composition. The organiac colorful shapes contrast so beautifully with the grey concrete world 'outside'

very original presentation. The window makes an intriguing foreground. It catches the eye but it also provides occasion for reflection. Very well spotted. It is inspiring for me to get creative as well.

Ciao Lisa,

G'day Confederacylisa,
I doubt if this impressionistic otherworldly display would encourage me to shop, but certainly stop to be amazed.
Sydney is truly one of our great metros, and I cherish my brief visit and the people.
Louis Vuitton and the French are heavily involved in the America's Cup races, and upcoming in San Francisco again - October 3 thru 7th.
Have another fine weekend, and many adventures,
Cheers,
Ray
PS: Nice attractive profile photo, and is that the Confedracy book in your hot little hands!??
