Photographer’s Note
Around the bays near Glebe just to the west of central Sydney there used to be lots of water front industry. these days they are long gone and a foot path now goes right around the water front. Fancy apartments have been built behind the waterfront park and behind them are old houses, some old worker cottages, some much grander.
Across the bay is an area where planners still seem to be making up the minds as to what should happen next.
In the area in this photo the waterfront is taken by an area where old ships and boats are restored. It is a hotchpotch of mostly wooden hulled craft such as coastal cargo ships and harbour boats such as ferries and pilot boats.

Hi Ian, as an Inner Westie myself, I recognised those boats immediately. You look to have been at the Fishmarkets when you took this?? If so, I hope you had an oyster or 24 :) Nice work especially when you were shooting in such harsh light and strong shade, the DOF and sharpness are excellent. TFS, Lisa.

Hi Ian.
Terrific sharpness in this photo (must be your excellent choice of camera brand!), and very nice colouring - the water in particular is a superb blue which does not seem at all unnatural. 'Hotchpotch' is the right word for it. I think your panoramic crop is a good idea. I like the bands of blue above and below the conglomeration of boats.
This is the kind of shot that Peter Wall (phwall) would appreciate. By the way, I think your Pentax lens is virtually identical to the Tamrom one that I use; I believe Pentax had a joint development with Tamron on this one.
Regards,
Andrew

Hello Ian,
He is although these worthy boats are restored. Under a strong light, it is a beautiful image, coloured, detailed and clear. A good photograph, and an interesting document about the Australian inheritance. Cheer.
Have a nice day.
Cordially.

Hello Ian,
A very different to those we are accustomed to seeing in this city, usually with tourist eyes. You teach us another aspect of everyday life simpler, far from the main buildings.
Very good light and detail.
Best regards,
Charo
