Photographer's Note

This is a photo of entrance to Sydney's Luna Park. Located on the north shore of the Harbour, it has a stunning backdrop of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. As you can probably tell, I got this effect by zooming the lens during the exposure.

P.S. Just for interest - and I've probably asked you this before - do you "start" at the long or short end of your zoom when doing this?

For whatever reason, the teeth are freaking me out a bit here... the eyes are really what make this effect work so well, as they're so clear at either end of the zoom. The surrounding lights make a nice frame, and the 'Luna Park' lights appear projected onto the sky, which is a great effect - fun shot, but also quite well executed!

ahahahahah, che foto!
L'effetto esplosione fa apparire la faccia dell'entrata del Luna Park come se avesse gli occhi di fuori e i denti stirati.

Devo riconoscere che ci sai fare con questo tipo di foto.
Avrei soltanto croppato quella luce azzurrina sulla sinistra che distrae un pò, lasciando tutto nero.

This is really cool, just in time for Halloween. Love the motiion and the 3D effect, the eye popping and shiny teeth, woh, everythign coming toward us. Love the golden color and light, and strong graphic and visually very captivating. Festive mood and fun atmosphere. I love the fun spirit of it and great quality photo too.

Those popping eyes are just great fun, and make this shot go beyond cheap trick. That Luna Park face is very recognizable. Would be too much to call it an icon of Sydney, but maybe a runner-up!

questo effetto e' molto spettacolare e divertente, ideato e realizzato benissimo. Mi piace tanto la sua richezza, il dinamismo, la luminosita', la stupenda definizione di motivi e colori. Il quadro e' pieno e soddisfacente e possiamo anche vedere chiaramente com' era la facciata prima che il gioco partisse. Acquisce facilmente l' ammirazione ed il sorriso che merita. I think you have captured this fun'ness, a lovely humorous picture and what an effect. The shutter speed i think is ideal, the frozen parts are well seen whilst the radiating motion is so evident. Excellent placement of the sharp 'Luna Park' signage to hold the focus in, anyway looks like you had a more productive evening there.. Excellent shot!

Wow, what an effect! Those eyes are superb (if a little creepy) and I would imagine they would follow you around the room if this show were on the wall. This is a fantastic effect, and one I have never gotten the hang of. Mostly, I see this done on things without human features, and this really shows how well it can work. Great shot indeed,

Excellent axial motion photo. You have created a very good effect. I'm surpricrd how clear you got the the LUNA PARC name. I never tried such kind of zooming with camera. I achieved some kind of motion effect with Photoshop. Well done indeed. Have a nice weekend.
